This a pocket pen used to ignite flash paper (cotton,string, powder). This pen is elegently simple --- no wires, no corks with home-made springs, no glue, no sloppy soldering methods. I was asked to design such a pen because the "other pens" on the market were prone to break or wear out within weeks due to the ignition filament being extremely fragile. This pen is designed with an industrial strength "double coil" ignition system made for real world performing conditions. If one of the coils breaks or burns out, the other coil will still light, hence the name: "Sure Lite". You can drop it or throw it into your pocket without the fear of breaking the ignitor filament because it is protected by a micro-shield housing unit. This pen outputs enough heat, that if it comes within 1/32 of an inch distance to flash paper, it will ignite it.
Also, when the batteries burn out, you can replace them without having an engineering degree. You won't have to "tear the pen to pieces" just to replace the batteries.
