This bite-out folding coin has a distinct bite pattern for those who prefer details. Only the bitten side of the coin folds and unfolds. you can say it's a two piece folding coin.
Borrow a coin from the audience. Make a switch and take a bite -- one-third of the coin is gone, leaving teeth marks. This is not a folding coin, but an actual coin cut-out with "teeth mark" patterns. This coin can be handed out to the spectator.
Ideal to use with a folding coin. Here's a free routine from Mimesis Magic:
Do all the visual effects with a folding coin and then bite out the folding coin and blow it back to "normal". Jokingly start to hand the coin to the spectator by saying: "Here's the coin, spit and all". They won't attempt to take it. Then with your other hand you take a handkerchief from your pocket to swipe off the saliva (spit). The hankercheif has been pre-holded with the BITE OUT coin, so when drying off the folding coin, make the switch and had out the coin for examination. If the spectator still won't take the coin, just let it drop to the floor to prove that it's a solid coin. Of course, the folding coin secretly goes into your pocket with the handerchief.
